Children's Ministry

Overview
We believe that God has given us a great opportunity to bring up dedicated disciples of Jesus Christ. We will strive to minister to the need of each child here at FBCO. 

Objectives
First, to glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by leading each child to the opportunity to receive Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

Second, to be obedient to our Lord's command in Mathew 28:18-20 and make disciples.  We will teach the Bible as God's Holy Word, we will teach Jesus as God's only Son, who died on a cross, was buried and arose three days later by the Glory of the Father that we may have new life.

Third, to develop an environment that each child may grow mature in his or her spiritual walk of faith in Jesus Christ.

Fourth, to train each child as a disciple of Jesus Christ how to share their faith in their Lord and Savior with others.

Directives
Each adult leader will have a well grounded faith in Jesus Christ and be ready to proclaim Christ at any time according to 1 Peter 3:15.  Each adult leader will meet with the Children's Ministry Director, Lesley Cowger, before taking a position with the children's ministries.  Each adult leader will have a completed volunteer screening form filled out and on file before they participate in the children's ministries.  Each adult leader will be encouraged to actively participate in the evangelistic in-reach and outreach opportunities provided to grow and strengthen our children's ministries.  Each adult leader will be encouraged to attend training as needed and provided by the church.
