Ministry means to serve.  Ministry is seen as service to God and to other people in His name. Apostle Paul was quoted often complimenting some of the churches as "giving themselves to first to God" then to the needs of others.  Jesus provided the pattern for Christian ministry, He came, not to be served, but to serve (see Matthew 20:28; Mark 10:45; John 13:1-17).

As Christians, we are to minister to others out of devotion to Christ and love for others, whether the other people are believers or unbelievers. Ministry to others should be impartial and unconditional, always seeking to help others as Jesus would.  We should not be doing our work for 'thank you's', recognition, or for any other personal gain or satisfaction.  When we are performing a service we need to ask ourselves, "Why am I doing this?"  As the heart of the action is more important than the action itself.

Ministry is not just about the leaders of the church.  It is about EACH Christian person ministering to the physical, emotional, mental, vocational, and financial needs of others. Jesus did, and we strive to do the things Jesus did!

FBCO wants to minister to your needs.  Within the pages of this website you will see many of the ways we are doing just that.  Some of the more common ministries we have are listed to the right.  If you don't see something that you think we could or should be doing let us know by filling out the form below!  We want to do all we can to reach all we can.
